mgordon, not to sound stupid. But what knife is that, is it production or custom?

I do like it, that's why I'm asking.

custom no problem
I have made a bunch of top quality kit knives. I am proud of them. This knife looks to be a kit knife, from Knifekits.com or another supplier. Nothing wrong with that.

Give us some backstory, please? You did good.

It is similar to the one from knifekits.com that is where i got the idea from.
My first folder was actually a kit of theres and this is a near copy, I cant deny that. My knife uses stainless liners, bolsters and pins also it is bigger towards the bottom then the one from the kit.

Before i made the kit knife (my first folder) i made a copy of the peices so that when i did decide to do my own i would have a guide to go by and that is what this is.

So yes it is very similar but no it is not the kit from them. Hope that clears it up.

^^ Crystal clear. And working off of known, good, working examples is simply smart.

Best of fortunes with your progress.

Look really nice How long did it take to make .I,m doing my first ones at the moment its taken about 3 weeks so far probably will take another week a least all hand tools If they turn out harf as well as yours and I,ll be happy.

ABOUT 20-25 HOURS
my wife was out of town when i made it so i spent most of the time in the shop that weekend.

I guess it was about 10 total hours on the liners and bolsters to get them like I like it, 2 or 4 hours on the handle and the rest on the blade

That would be my best guess, I enjoy doing it so i didn't watch the clock.
