Spent a weekend with Steigerwalt. Kenny makes folders look easy. He helped mostly in making a slip joint from scratch....Sketch drawing to ready for finish. I forged the blade and we went from there. 5160 blade, nickel silver liners and pins, damascus bolsters with tiger maple scales. I did the heat treat and silver wire inlay. I didn't do any filework on this one but he showed some. Lots of tips and tricks. I'm happy with the results.

Great Weekend.
Larry

Great looking knife. Wished my first had looked that good.

Looks great Larry. I bet there aren't many 5160 folders out there.:D You coming to the meeting tomorrow nite?

I'll be there. It will be too. If the rest of the day goes better I'll have a couple new fixed blades with me too.

Nice job Larry, I have plans for a wire inlay folder and was wondering how thick your scales are?
Again nice work.

Thanks
It's 1/8" at the bolster and tapers to 1/4" at the but. Been a couple years since I've done any silver inlays...Guess I'll get into it again.
Yea I guess I am lucky to have friends with so much knowledge.
