What better to do on a rainy and storming day off from work than to forge a bar of steel into something! I don't have a drift, so I made an eyeless spike hawk. I also split and shaped the haft myself. Its lightening quick in hand, super light and packable, spike is needle sharp and the edge is shaving sharp! I forged it from 1080 and is fully heat treated and tempered. No glue or rivets holding the head in, just a slight lip on the sides and proper knot selection for the siezing. It is incedibly sturdy.

Its a mouse hawk for sure!

Yep, its a 20% scale tomahawk! 1/5 is probably my favorite scale to work in, I've made lots of mini edged items, but this is the first swing cutter I have made so far. More pics...

The bowie is not the same scale, it is in 1/10, but I should make one so I can post up my own hawk and knife combo!

Hope you enjoy it half as much as I do making these minis!

Smurf Hawk!!

Dude, great work on the minis! tiny is hard to do.
Tiny pole arms are awesome.

Thanx Mossy!

Thanx Daizee, I love working in miniature. Forging is a tedious process, small thin blades cool so quick I get maybe three hits in before its too cold. This one wasn't too bad, it has some mass to it. I haven't thrown it yet, but maybe I will tonight! Next up is a matching bowie or trade knife. This one was fun!
