First FPS for PS3? MAG vs Killzone 2 vs Modern Warfare 2

Howdy folks-

I've got a PS3 on reserve. This will be my first 'newest generation' console. I bought it with the sole intent to play first person shooters.

Originally the plan was to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It looks good, I like the weapons, etc. Then I also recently saw MAG and Killzone2. Are either of these two latter games good enough that they should be considered versus Modern Warfare?

Thoughts are welcome!
 
Well I'm a pc gamer so I'm not much help. :D

My buddy Matt would talk your ear off about PS games though.

If you plan on playing online get a xbox.

That said MW2 without a doubt..........and come get pwned noob :)
 
You gotta give us a better idea of what your looking for, b/c MAG and MW2 are two completely different animals. Not sure about killzone.

Let me explain what i mean. MAG is from the same guys that used to make the SOCOM games. What i'm getting at is in MW2, you run out hold down the fire button and throw a few grenades when you have them and bam all of a sudden your on the winning team. MAG is huge, but your split up into smaller groups, you have to be more careful about how you do things it's not just a run and gun.
 
MW2. Best all around. Killzone 2 is a little choppy but looks amazing. MAG is....ehhhh


But, above all those get Uncharted 2.
 
MW2.. don't even think about getting something else.. then get Fallout 3, Oblivion (yes, its still an awesome game) and GTA 4.

Tbh, I don't much like using a console controller for FPS games, but MW2 is superb.

Same here. I started with Atari back in the early 80's. I've had many console through the years (Nintendo, Sega, Turbografix16, etc). I do have a PS3 now, and I tell you nothing beats a solid PC for FPS gaming.

I did try Killzone for the PS3, it was a great game. But I just cannot use a controller for those games. It's too cumbersome for me, I need a keybaord (Logitech G15) and mouse (Logitech MX518).

I'm currently playing MW2 on PC, and I'm waiting for BattleField: Bad Comany 2 at my local GameStop. I used to play BF2142, BF2, Counter Strike, Quake Wars, Crysis, Far Cry, Medal of Honor, etc, etc. I just miss flying in choppers and jets, driving tanks and APCs. MW2 is getting stale now.

My friend at work has a SOCOM sickness and told me all about MAG. I check it out on Youtube and it looks awesome. If you get a game try that one.
