looking into getting my very first framelock knife. was looking for a recommendation for an inexpencive one to get a feel of a good framelock..i am thinking maybe $50 as the max. i tend to like the bigger folders just so ya know. thanks for all the help in advance

if you wanna keep it under $50, you wont find anything big, but the kershaw leek is famous for its simplicity and reliability.

boker trance, boker hyper and the crkt notorious (remove the spring bar, you can thank me later)

checked out the bokers and crkt not feeling them. maybe the crkt if i take off the g-10 the leek looks good would be my first kershaw as well.

i like the look of the scamp. think that may be the one. i like the leek but i dislike assisted opening as of late. in fact haven't bought one in months. thinking the scamp is the way to go plus would let me do some tinkering with the knife like stone wash the blade and what not

well looks like im gonna get a frame lock scallion instead of the scamp. kershaw guy has some new factory blems over in the exchange for only 25 and i would rather have an american made knife in my pocket

Since you mentioned getting a blem from Kershawguy, I would suggest the Shallot instead of the Scallion. You mentioned you like the bigger folders and the Scallion is somewhat on the small side. You sound like you're somewhat familiar with the Leek, which is the 2nd knife in this pic. The Scallion is the 3rd (right below the Leek) and the Shallot is the 1st (right above the Leek). Kershawguy has the Shallot for $30, so only $5 more.

i really like the shallot getting that one gonna mod it a little. stonewash the blade and acid etch it and put anodized blue screws on it and i think that would look really cool
