This is my first friction folder, fully made by hand. Knife blade is .125" 6-4 tia with a carbideized reinforced edge, its 3'' long and is chisel ground. Handle is .090 G10 with and .060 layer of carbon bonded to the out side for looks and strength. The overall length is 8.125" and weighs 2.7 oz

That's NICE!
Be patient... you will get busy. Great work on a future concept folder.

Beautiful work, I just started making knives and this is very inspiring. I am just doing fixed blades to work on basic skills, but I am excited for the challenge of a folding knife in the future. Great job, I see many more designs coming from you and more customers coming to you. I particularly like the blade finish. Acid etched I assume?

Thanks guys, I've only been doing this like 5 months and it is encouraging to see that people like what I'm making. The design in the blade is actually the tungsten carbide I applied to the one side and the color is from anodizing the titanium blade.

Seems like your first knife fits more in the "Shop Talk" sub forum, then in the "Hammer and Tongs" section. If you are looking for feedback, I think the G10 alone is strong enough without the CF, the scale "checkering" doesn't really seem to fit asthetically, and the grind line could use some attention. Keep practicing and hope to see more.

Matt- Like Bob said, when you get your grind line down, I'll get a fixed blade from you.

Thanks bob for the feedback. I'll be working on jig to clean up my grind line this week. I did this one free hand. I did put the carbon on the outside because the g10 didn't seem stiff enough and I really like the carbon look its been kinda my theme on all my knives. Hindsight I do think I should have went with the bronze color of titanium anodizing I think it would have fit better with the carbon look.

Also I'm confused with the comment about where I posted this. I posted this thread in "custom and handmade knives" forum. Is it also in a different place?
