Tonight I got to see my daughter play her first basketball game. It was a bit rough for her still having a cast on her shooting hand but she still did great. Even figured out that there can be an advantage to having a cast. Seems to keep defenders at a distance.
I am sure that you other dads can relate but as happy and proud as I am, I am still having a problem with my "Baby girl" growing up. Can't imagine those feeling are ever gonna change.

Growing up "too fast". My little girl is 9..... I deal with girls 11-12 years old PREGNANT and getting arrested!!!!

Well now I have to go lock my daughter in the basement forever.

Maybe I will just leave her cast on awhile longer. That will keep the boys away.

Oh I hear ya. I remember my oldest first soccer game when she was little. Getting run into by a boy, and her face....she got all mad and ran right back into him:D

Shes 13 now and seems much older. It scares me that she will be done with high school in 4 years which will pass in a blink.:(

Cherish these moments:thumbup:

my baby girl will be 19 this year, Garth eat up these years and love the hell outta them, they go by fast man ....

Thanks for sharing Garth....cool you are getting to see her play.

My youngest turned five this week and it saddened me a little....she's becoming a "big girl" now she said.

Gravelface,
STOP, your scaring me! My little girl will be 6 in a week, I can't be worrin about that!

Garth, keep her close and get to know who her friends are (they can influence her a lot). Help encourage her to be her own person but always help her when she needs it. Things seem so diffenent now from when I was young but I know my dad was a big influence on my decisions more when he wasn't around than when he was. Being a big part of a girl's life makes a big difference on her and makes it easier to make good choices out of wanting to make you proud.

Mine are 27, 26, and 24. My middle daughter was involved in every sport available, one all the way through college. Lots of fun for mom and dad to go watch and I think really kept her on track. Athletics and academics help keep em out of trouble. It sounds like you are on the cusp of alot of enjoyable times.

Right On Garth! They never get too old for some Daddy feelings. My 3 daughters are 11, 20 and 22. As long as they don't end up like any of my sisters (Gravelface has probably dealt with them), they will always make me proud.

Zip it with the scary stories, we can't all keep our children locked in the basement forever...so ZIP IT! Zip It good!

Yup Yup!

It also helps to make them agree to NO dating until AFTER they are married!

There is another option....
