First gen Delica question

Do any of you gents happen to know which blade steels the first gen Delica was offered in? By first gen I'm referring to the models with the pocket clip molded into the handle. If I'm wrong about which generation those particular knives are I'm sorry but the best I remember they were the first. I love the Delica as a knife in general, it's been my most carried Spyderco by far and I've recently been thinking about trying to locate a first gen. I have mine, a G2 blade, but I've stopped carrying it due to fear of losing it so I would like to look for another one (or 2) and I just wanted to look for the best steel available in that particular generation.

Thanks fella's.

Unmarked blades delica/endura are GIN-1 aka G2. Later it was switched to AUS 8.

There is little difference between them. All are quite serviceable.

Thanks again. I've been satisfied with my G2 blade so I'll just start my search for whichever one I find first.

If you go by what's written about them in The Spyderco Story, AUS-8 is the more rust resistant of the two while GIN-1 (G-2) holds an edge longer. I've never had a rust problem with either and both seem to hold an edge pretty well for me, so the differences may be the kind that would only be noticed during Q-fog and CATRA testing.

Thanks! I was already going to try and find one in G2 just because that's what mine is but now I'm definitely going to look for this steel. Even if I can't tell the difference just knowing that it's "suppose" to hold an edge slightly longer seals the deal.
