Help me decide!
I have the Endura with the molded clip (which is broken off!) do I send it back to Spyderco and pay the $25 or grind it off myself and use a deep drop clip from knifekits?
I really prefer the deep clip but I'm concerned about the process i.e. what to use to grind off the "stump" of left over clip and what hardware to use to attach the new clip.

Any wise words?

Use a file if need be, do it yourself, be proud, keep using, and enjoy.

I would just send the sucker to Spyderco. I think it looks sweet how they grind of the old clip and tap it for a new metal one. And that reduces to zero your chance of screwing it up. :)

I would be intrested to see any pictures on this being done, i heard they do that but i never saw it.

That link was one of the few I could find with pics. It was also what made me worried about finding small enough machine screws.

They don't use machine screws, they use a screw with a heavier thread that will dig into the FRN.

Bench grinder made short work of it

I forgot I have this clip, the lanyard hole lines up so I'm going to see if I can find a random bit of hardware to go right through

Well, the nice folks at Spyderco sent me out the screws and I put a US knifemakers Ti lowrider clip on it. Not too shabby.

Spyderco sent me the stuff to do the "upgrade" for like 15 bucks. I did the job in around ten minutes. One of the slickest Spydies to clip/unclip off the pocket. Love those old school Enduras. Sal's gonna have to do an anniversary run of 'em with some kind of super dooper bladesteel.

It is a bigger knife than I'm used to but it just feels right in the pocket. I've been carrying it without a clip for a week or so and it sits in there nicely. Hopefully it'll be even better with the clip.

I'm debating whether to mod my first gen Endura or just trade/sell it.
Its used but not abused, haven't really carried/used it in 10 years. Its the full serrated model and to be honest i have just come to loathe all serrated knives, lol.
Might just regrind it instead!
I still love Spydercos but mostly nowadays i just use my Tenacious or Gayle Bradley.
