I found a battered old 'Case' style folder from a company i dont know called Winchester, in an old box in the shed. No scales, damaged blade and oxidation. I thought id have a go at making some scales for it and make it useable again.
Reshaped the blade, cleaned it up then had a go at making some scales. Used some open weave hessian and clear resin to make the scales. It didn't turn out too bad for a first attempt i think. The open weave means that when layered the scales have a really deep 3d effect.
I will have another go sometime, but with some material with a bronze/autumn colour it.
