I'm a CNY lifer, grew up near Camillus and toured the plant once. I have a friend who probably still works there. He once gave me a box full of Camillus knives, mostly small Bucks they were making then, a couple big lockbacks.

I have a set of three M2(?) para knives, Camillus, Schrade and the other maker who's name escapes me now. I'm seeing the orange handled para knives advertised recently, reasonably cheap. Is Camillus making these again?

Thanks again.

Hey Edgsmth. Welcome to Bladeforums.

I don't know about your question. I think that, if you're local, the best course of action is to call the plant directly and ask someone there.

As you know, their "staffing" has changed considerably, so there's no telling what is coming out of the plant. This is just speculation, but what you might be seeing is Camillus unloading a number of knives that had been finished or near-finished before the strike began.

I know that a lot of "end of days" knives came out of the Schrade plant before it closed. There were spurts of certain models, some of which hadn't been seen for a while. A number of parts knives also appeared and were hybrids of similar models (for example, Old Timer knives with stainless steel that had previously gone in Uncle Henry knives).

Again, just speculation based on what I saw at Schrade...

Can you point to one of the ads? I don't know that anyone here is going to speak to Camillus's production schedule (I doubt anyone can), but I'm interested in seeing which knife you mean.
