So i have been etching and polishing this thing for about 4 hours.....I took it to a 2000 grit hand rubbed finish and started soaking it in vinegar....After about 5 etch sessions, i decided i am done with it until i get some Flitz....

Steel is W2. I need to get some polish to bring this out some more....It is still a little faint for my liking at the moment.
 
I have a feeling that is gonna be a very nice one when it is polished.

Can't wait to see the finished product.........

looking good Mike, you should have Flitz locally. I found it at Ace hardware stores.
 
Thanks guys! I am pretty excited for this. I am going to take the sanding up to 5000 and then soak/polish/rinse and repeat lol. I have been obsessing over making this pop as hard as i can. I have read Nick's thread probably 20 times to make sure i am doing this right. I have a pretty cool idea for the next one....

Anyone know where i can get diamond paste in a 3k grit and up? Do they even make it?
