Not too visible in the pic, but one of the holes for a hidden pin was too deep, ended up sanding down to it. It's top center on the right side. I filled it with sawdust and did a few coats of cyanoacrylate (super glue )

I wish I could remember what this wood is. I bought it last year, cut the blocks into scales, soaked it in nelsonite under vacuum a couple days, and it's been sitting for many months. These scales better not shrink/warp on me.

Very cool. ive got a mule coming from the UK. I think ill try to find some exotic scale material on the bay and see if ray the bigfoot will fix me up. By the way what dimensions will I need to get for the scales material?

Needs to be 1.5" wide (a little bigger would be better but 1.5" minimum) be and around 5" length; thickness at least as thick as you want the scales to be!
