First hang, a little off axis. How to fix?

Hi, all -

I’m fitting a small hatchet head to a new handle in process. The bit is a couple degrees off axis right now. Still fitting - I think I can trim one side or t’other to adjust. Can someone clarify? Thanks!

Scott

Do you mean that the head is twisted out of alignment with the handle, or do you mean that the length of the handle isn't pointing to the center of gravity? I'm guessing the former rather than the latter. If so, you have to remove material from the opposing corners. Basically visualize the head pivoting where you want it to go and look at where it would run into material in the process, then take a little off there and re-check the fit.

Yep - the former. That's what I thought, but wanted to check just to optimize the learning process. Appreciate the input!
