You'll have to forgive me if this has been covered a thousand times already but, what would be a good first hawk? I plan on using it for camp chores, hunting (though not actually hunting animals with the thing... more like breaking bones once the critters are down) and throwing - not so much for CQB cutting people up stuff...
Now, I realize I could probably get a decent hatchet that'll do everything I need it to for less than an ATC would cost but, I really respect companies that stand behind their products and I like to throw my money their way whenever possible, plus, I'd rather not risk blowing my money on "crap", even if it is only $20 worth of crap.
I've got my eye on the Brend and the Vietnam Tactical specifically because, while I love wood for other uses, I've found it's not usually the most durable material for tools - particularly tools that are going to be thrown 30 yards and could possibly land on jagged rocks
but, if you guys tell me that the hickory holds as up well as the acetal(sp?) I wouldn't mind going for one of the other models.
As for the Next Generation Ranger: it's absolutely beautiful and I love 0-1 but the price is bit steep for me right now so, please don't taunt me with how wonderful it is
.
Anyway, Thanks in advance for your answers and, sorry about the newbie questions... you gotta start somewhere you know
