Hey guys after spending a good amount of time here you guys have me wanting a hawk and I just wanted to know some good quality hawk out there for under $100 I have been looking at getting a hawk from a blade smith by the name of Edgar chattin but I can't seem to find them anwhere on the internet !

As far a factory made hawks for under a hundred that is decent...I'd say buy the SOG Fusion...it's a Vietnam style Hawk but it has held up to a lot of abuse...Doc:D

Couldn't edit the last post....even though I suggested the SOG Fusion...personally I would save my pennies and buy real quality from ATC....It's worth the extra money....Doc;)

Check out KR Johnson and/or Coal Creek Forge. I have one from KR and 3 from CCF. $40-$70 for solid nicely made hawks. Steve from CCF makes the Enforcer for $125 that is as good as anything in that $200+ range.

What do you want it for? SD and/or as a vehicle tool, woods bumming, throwing, etc?

You cannot go wrong with any that have been mentioned so far and for your price range, you might even be able to get two.:D As Doc mentioned, if you want to get probably THE best tactical hawk for the money, the ATC/Lagana VTAC is the best choice. Fort Turner also offers a tactical hawk for $100, although in a more traditional style and is called the Rogers Rangers hawk.

If you just want something to throw and beat on, Blackbear Haversack has some inexpensive but very tough throwing hawk choices. For $100 you could get at least 2 or 3 and a couple of extra handles as well.

Good luck in your quest...like most bladed weapons, hawks can become a real addiction!:D

What Style of Hawk are you looking for ? A Throwing Style ? Tactical ? A Hammer Poll ? There are lot's of different type's & design's In the World of TomaHawk's, I've never seen any of Edgar Chattin's Work/Hawk's, Or heard of him. But for 100.00 you can get a Real Nice Hawk, In just about any style, If your looking for a Real Nice Forged Hammer Poll, Coal Creek Forge make's one for less than 100.00, If you looking for a Tactical style Hawk, You can get a Lagana VATC for close to that "Or a Fort Turner Roger's Ranger" for 100.00 Is I think the Best Buy In Traditional Tactical Style Hawk's ! If your looking for a Thrower you can get a matched Set of French or American Hawk's for 100.00 from Keith at Great River Forge http://www.greatriverforge.com/ Fort Turner for the price and Quality of an American Made Forged Hawk Is your Best Bet Check these out http://www.fortturner.com/store/index.htm , American Made Forged Hawk's are "The Best" ! To me the SOG Fusion Is a "Bad Investment !" Dont waste your Money ! Great River Forge and Fort Turner and Coal Creek Forge, Are The Best for 100.00 or Less ! If you want to spend a little more I'd get one from Louis Tortorich http://www.tortorichknivesandhawks.com/ His Hawk's are Work's of Art and just a little over 100.00 !

i plan on useing it for outdoor use chopping, limbing, etc and a little throwing also i want to make a samdwhich steel tomhahwk with a piece of 5160 in the bit what could i use to make the eye and how do i make a handle for a tomahawk ?

For general use, a CS Trail Hawk might be the ticket... especially if it is for medium to light work...

For throwing, I would recommend a CS Frontier Hawk...

For your $100 limit you could get both, plus a spare handle (haft) for both, too...
