Firstly I'd like to say thank you to Yangdu for walking me through the buying process. Secondly the USPS EMS shipping is fast fast fast. I ordered some stuff from Sydney Australia at the same time as the Khukuri and it still hasn't arrived. I'm in Perth Australia.

The Khukuri got here in 6 days and went through customs twice :)
I was worried it might not get through.

Okies I will post pics once I get a camera, but heres the specs of it.

Chiruwa Ang Khola.
Made by Kumar.
Weight: 34 ounces, 980 grams.
Overall Length: 18 inches.
Handle length: 5 inches.
Brass thinger: 1.5 inches. (is it called the cho? )
Blade: 11.5 inches.
Spine thickness: 1/2 inch.
Double fullers.
Black horn handle.

The handle fits my hand nicely, and I have large hands. Its alot bigger then I imagined and alot heavier then I imagined. I absolutely love it, best thing I've bought all year :)

Lock up your banking quick...once you use it, HIKV will become full blown.

Congrats...

xinel,

Glad you're enjoying your new AK; hope it gives you years of pleasure. The brass thinger is a bolster. :) Now that you've made it through the purchasing process and know that you can slip these lovelies through customs, you're a doomed man. ;)

What a beast. So good. Enjoy.

hehehe yeah I'm looking at the dotd and reading reviews and thinking about my next purchase. Just gotta save up a bit :P Can't wait to try it, just gotta finish exams and move house then I will go nuts :)

Hi, and welcome to the Forum.

You've got a hoss on your hands! In safari terms, you have your "heavy". Eventually, you will probably want to also get a smaller, lighter kuk (15" sirupati or BAS or 14" BDC) and perhaps a small knife, like a Sarge or R7. You might also eventually buy something about the same OAL, but lighter, like an 18" Chitlangi (one of my personal favorites).

The cho is that odd little cutout on the front of the blade. Its purpose is debated, but is most often agreed to be ceremonial. The brass thing is the bolster.

Ahhhhh cheers <light bulb turns on>.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :)

The next knife I want to get is the seax, but thats rarely sold isn't it?
If not the M43 or the AK bowie :)

I got a very similar CAK as my first khukuri really love it, the thing can chop amazingly well.

And I thought my WWII was big at 18.5"/ 28oz. You must have big arms. Either that or I have girly arms. Welcome aboard.
