My first HI Sirupati arrived on Friday, but weekend duty kept me away from it until this morning. Ach, torture.
The balance point is two inches forward of the bolster and the blade flows so smoothly through cutting and chopping actions. The quality of the blade is a living testament to the kami(s) who crafted it. The karda and chakma are well done, the polish is excellent on both and the handles are wonderfully figured horn. They seem small in hand, but are nicely proportioned to the rig.
It probably won't be until the end of the summer when I get to really try it out back packing. It is a perfect size and weight to strap on to the ruck sack and go roaming. Can't wait. It is not a long drive to the Smokies or Ozarks from here, maybe I can sneak a few days of leave....
In the meantime I'm going to construct a sheath that fits in my bag securely, an haunt the forum to suck in all that info you post.
Thank you HI for bringing such a blade my way.
Fair winds and following seas to all.
