I went hiking up Mt Zao, Miyagi in a small area called Togata.
It's a pretty easy hike up along a mountain river, but I was pretty out of shape after a long winter and hiding indoors from the radiation.

We came across a lot of landslides from the earthquake, and one giant boulder that had dislodged from high up and had obliterated the path in one place.

These are shots of the same boulder from above.

Here you can see my mate Robbie standing in the huge divot where the path used to be.

Good for you, getting back out again! Looks like nice country for building up your stamina, anyway.

That looks like a very nice area. If someone was standing there when the boulder landed, no one is going to know about it for at least 100 years :). Wow, big boulder in a beautiful place.

チンポ, I'm glad that you didn't ran away like so many others have done. "leaving the country in a hurry"
Man, you must have some strong ramification. All this time what did you be drinking?

Whiskey:D

Bottled water, and for cooking, brushing teeth etc.

I probably would have run off, but my wife is a social worker and there was no way she could leave (Plus, she didn't want to), so I stayed. I look around and nobody else has the option to flee. My wife's family is all here; nephews, nieces. How could I leave and ever face them again? Only thing is our plans for starting a family next year have gone out the window. I don't know when we'll be able to do that.

Glad you and your family made out well. I imagine the stories that will be told will continue a lifetime. Best wishes on continuing your planning for having children. As soon as it happens, you'll be fretting about your lack of free time :D
