My girlfriend and I went for a quick hike yesterday afternoon at Mnt. Wachusett. The weather was great, with the sky being cloudy at times, to being pretty clear. The temperature started out in the low 40's at the base, and then dropped to temperatures around the high 20's/low 30's at the summit. We even received snow flurries off and on throughout the hike (which we enjoyed).

It's a small mountain (only around 2,000ft high), and its known to occasionally draw large crowds; however we only saw a handful of other hikers (thankfully).

Overall it was a great hike, and i got a chance to try out my new Gregory pack and my new Columbia pants (both were great). Thanks for looking.

Some tracks at the base

Anyone have an idea what these tracks are? We only noticed them in one location near a stream.

Is it just my comp or all those pics are only thumbnails...either way looks like a bunch of fun.

heck jeff you are a lot younger kat than i expected, not a bad thing since you should be around a lot longer. no snow near austin or rain either. thanks for the excursion--dennis

Great pics, and thanks for sharing. No idea about those track, are you sure they were tracks and not just a formation from water dripping off a tree above?

I am glad to say all the snow has melted in this part of New England!

Yes, as of this morning the snow is pretty much melted.

As for the "tracks" i am not quite sure. I was wondering if they were from the trees too, however there was a few different sizes of these "tracks", and they seemed to all be following each other, and all had the same identical shape. I should have taken more pictures....

Oh well, either way the "tracks" looked cool, and it was a fun hike.
