Got the chance to go on a hike Friday in the Hoosier National Forest. High was near 55 degrees. Lot of downed stuff back in the smaller footpaths from the heavy snow last month. Did about six miles.

There were a couple sites showing some recent wood pecker activity.(Credit card used for size reference)

My main two blades today. Spyderco Bushcraft and Cold Steel Trail Master.

Lovin' the new Bushcraft but it needs a sheath upgrade.

First outing since the thaw and can't wait to get back out.

Cool pics, good to get out in some nice warm weather isn't it.

Yeah, the wood peckers has been busy here lately too. There is a pair of Pileated wood peckers nesting here in the hollow and man can they make some noise.

That knife is the Japanese made VG-1 San Mai III version Zhang. I've put it through quite a range of tests and it has worked well for me.

Didn't get to see a bird this time out but I think it also is a Pileated Woodpecker. They are big(20") with red crests?
