Good evening everybody!

A few months ago, I was contacted by a fellow member of our community to do a small hunting knife.

The plan was to finish this knife prior my move but my landlord decide to show me the door earlier than I anticipated.
A huge mess ensured and the move seemed to take forever. No matter how much I planned my schedule, everything took double the time.

Two months forward and I managed to have a working space. Still a ton of things to do and move but at least I can work on knives!

Without further adieu, here are some progress pictures of the hunter.
Right after the final grind was done and the tang prepared for the guard.

A lovely press fit keeps the guard tight in place.

Ready for glue up!

And finally, the end result! The final picture is quite awful with some oil residue still on it, the video is a better representation.

Thank you guys for reading along! Many more are coming up soon enough!
All feedback is welcome!

The "fellow member" Tony is referring to is me!! I contacted Tony a couple months ago after seeing my buddy, Dudley post some of Tony's work.

It was a real joy communicating with Tony as to the specifics of what I was looking for. We exchanged many PMs back and forth. Im planning on bring this beauty with me to deer camp this year. The quality of the work is fantastic! I asked Tony to stop sanding the maple handle at 220 grit. When I got the knife the other day, I melted beeswax and brushed it on the handle, and then worked the wax into the wood with a heat gun on the low temp setting. Turned on great! I'll pst a pic later.

Tony makes an excellent knife folks!

You're pretty mean! After all the hard work on the blade and guard, running through the grits on the handle is the easy/fun part. It would kill me to stop at 220.
Just kidding, look forward to seeing it.

Thanks, Barry, and it’s great to see Tony posting his work again and, yes, he work is exceptional.

Good for you on making the most out of your move, Tony, and we all look forward to your posts… ❤️ 😎

😂 sorry to disappoint! I’ve been a woodworker for over 40 years, and there is a method to my madness. Whenever I put beeswax on a woodworking tool, if I sand it past 220, The wax doesn’t absorb into the handle very well.
What I like about beeswax is that when your hands are dry it feels nice and soft, but if your hands get wet which they usually do when you’re in a hunting environment, the beeswax helps lock your hand into the handle.

I really appreciate the kind words, thank you!

It's ben a real pleasure doing this knife and the handle came out spectacular!

Nice job, Tony. I like the knife and the sheath. I feel your pain. I'm in the middle of a move myself. Very disruptive to work flow.
I really hope you don't have a lot of electrical work to be done in the new space, nonetheless, brace yourself with patience.
