Last weekend I got to go to a large knife store in Arizona. They had lots of great knives, but the one that I was interested in most was a microtech LCC D/A.

I couldn't believe how thick and overbuilt the thing was! It looked like everything on it was built with great care and to exacting tolerances. I thought the bolster firing mechanism was too cool, but if you wanted to open it with the thumbstud it opened that way easily too.

The only reason I didn't buy it was the price - $395!!! Youch! :barf:

Anyway, it seems like a great knife and I see one of them in my near future. Anyone else have any reviews of this knife they could post here?

I just got the manual action version. Stonewash blade. It is a big monster and it's well built. Scares the hair off my arm easily. I really like it and will get the DA auto soon!

I just picked up one from Josh at PVK on the Blade auction for $210.00
wolf. PVK, especially Josh are/ have been really kind to me, and they are people of their word. look on the site and josh moves the LCC/DA every Month or so and they check out between $210-$230 NIB......wolf

The LCC IMHO is one of the more "definitive" blades to have come out in the past few years. When it first came out it was really underpriced at $150 retail. It's gone up in price and the bolsters are now aluminum rather than Ti, but it's still a great knife.

Lost mine in the bush this weekend, hunting ptarmigan.
It was a great knife, although i've had to clean rust spots off it on occasion.
The worst part was, we didn't see any birds.(actually, losing the knife was worst part, but I keep trying to make myself feel better)

It's going to be missed.

Just picked up another LCC/DA. This baby is just so tight that it is almost impossible to Fire. Any suggestions on how to fine tune it?????wolf

I've had mine for several months. Great knife, but the fit and finish on mine left something to be desired. Quite unlike other MTs I own. Still, I am happy with the knife, and have kept it.

As for the stiff bolster, it should break in over time. Mine was stiff too, but it is smooth as butter now.

This knife is surely one of my favorites.

I got one back in March, and it has been my main daily carry ever since. The bolster firing mechinism on mine loosened up after the first few weeks, and the fit and finish is still perfect. I am actually in the process of wearing out my second sheath.

The knife fills the hand very well, and is quite easy to use in all cutting situations. I haven't even had to sharpen it yet.(although it is getting a little dull)

I'm sure that if you did a search on the knife in this forum, you'd come up with some great reviews. I can't think of anything that has been said negative about the knife other than the weight, and pocket clip. Neither of which I have to worry about in sheath carry.

If you can get one of the "second" generation knives with carbon fiber and Titanium bolsters, I'd say that is the way to go. That was the most abundant generation before they switched to Aluminum bolsters.

Check the For Sale forum, or post a request in the Wanted section. I'm sure you could even post a request in the Dealers' For Sale forum, and get a good deal. I'm sure you can find one right at or below the $200 range.

Good luck,
DD

My Mk2 LCC D/A was very stiff to fire at first. The only answer was to soak the mech with Tuf Glide over a week (once per day) and just keep firing the sucker!

Smooth as silk now and easy to fire!:)
