Found it at a local cutlery shop. The guy behind the counter said it had been in the back for a few years. It's the large model with black scales in CV (six dot, for what it's worth). This thing opens with a solid *clack*, nice strong backspring. And for being almost as big as my Buck 110 it's a hair lighter than my 2 blade trapper. And even the Mrs. commented on how comfortable it is to hold. I haven't done any real cutting yet, still working on getting it sharp. But I think I found a keeper. It's funny but I never really considered a Sodbuster before. It's not what you'd call sleek or sexy or whatever. But it just feels so good in the hand. I tell you, the older I get the more I realize that the Classics are Classic for a reason.

I had a large Sodbuster growing up. It's a good knife for using, but not much to look at. I'm half tempted to buy one and swap the plastic scales for something more attractive. :)

The Sodbuster is a no nonsense, no BS worker. The design has always reminded me of the Opinel.

Very nice, Frank.

I just unloaded a couple of knives that I wasn't using much, so I am planning their replacement. I won't be buying anything until the end of the year, but when I do, this guy may be on the list - Queen Country Cousin in D2. I haven't done any research yet on the knife, but I like the looks of it, especially at $20 - $25:
