As I was pulling up to the house for lunch, the UPS guy was heading back to his truck. WOOO

After unwrapping, a few big differences between this one, and my standard JYD became apparent.

The good:
This thing came MUCH sharper than my standard JYD
The blade detent is much more solid... don't know if it really matters, but it FEELS better

The bad
The blade doesn't flip nearly as easily. I think i need to loosen the screw, but the other one flipped smoothly OOB. It has loosened up a bit playing with it though

The other
The scales are identical to the first one. The pictures make them LOOK different, but they are not.

in all, i wish i had bought this thing first!

Well I hate to burst your bubble, but once you look into the SG2/titanium junk yard dawg, you might have to break the bank to get one of the 1000 or so made.

I bypassed the lower models and jumped right into Super Gold 2.

Weird side note: I normally cut some paper to see how the edge is. It ranges from tearing through paper forcefully to cutting buttery smooth.
With the Super Gold 2 it cut so smooth I was able to cut a rounded line down and back, it is a flawless slicer out of the box.

Its new and needs braking in. Brake it in and then ad a drop of oil. Mine is soo smooth. The sg2 version is the sharpest knife I own. The blade has a much thinner grind on the sg2.

The SG2 JYD's were (maybe even still are) available as blems. MUCH easier to get a hold of one that way. And yes, they are cutting machines!!! I've 2 of them... :D
