Hi guys,

Sorry for lack of pics but dealing with a bad head cold and aches all over, just not up to it...

Got one of these today just for a lark, and as the title suggests, just spent a little time with it, no heavy use thus far, so take that for what it's worth. Just my completely subjective first look.

-Far heavier than I expected for a knife this size... that'll turn some people off and would turn me way off except....
-This slipjoint actually has a pocket clip, which is intriguing. Not only that but it's 4-way carry (yay), something lefties who like tip up like me will appreciate, and that helps (in my case) for it not to feel so weighty in the pocket. I don't mind a bit of extra weight if it isn't sitting like an anchor in the bottom of my pocket.
- The blade, while nice and wide which I really like, does indeed look weirder to me in person than it did online, and those who already didn't like the look of it will likely not improve in person.
-open/close action is very stiff, more so than any other slipjoint I've handled. I haven't loosened the pivot and it may get a bit smoother with time, but for now, very stiff indeed.

Overall while it is an interesting concept and I'm tempted to take it with me when next I'm overseas, I think you can get about the same out of a Cold Steel Tuff Lite (in terms of size and blade comparison) in a lighter, smoother package, aside from the fact that the CS is obviously a locking knife.

Mine came in today as well! I would +1 much of what you said above. I spent a little bit of time just opening and closing it while working on some things at my desk today and the action seems to be loosening up a little. The blade looks a little "squattier" in person than it did in the video I saw from SHOT, but it seems like a solid knife. Here's my "unpacking" video:

Interesting knife. I'm afraid the wide profile of the knife as a whole might cause me to not carry it much. I have seen them available for around $12.75 so it is certainly cheap enough. I'll probably pick one up at that price just to try it out.

It's an interesting design and the price is very good but I think I would prefer to pay a bit more and get a Spyderco UKPK or Spy DK

Thx for taking your time to give your impressions
