Auntie is correct; magnificent describes it very well. The neem handle looks awesome and is perfect for those with average to large hands. The balance point is approximately 3/4" in front of the cho. The blade shape has a wicked look to it. It is easy to imagine a trail of zombie parts in this things wake.

14 3/4'' 26 ounce Bahadur Knife by Shaila Kami. Horn handle. I am delighted with Shaila's workmanship. Brave Knife for your collection at $138. *SOLD*

Just eyeballing it the spine appears to be just over 1/4" thick with the balance point roughly 3/8" in front of the "cho". The horn has enough color to give it character and has a nice shape. I picture stalwart Sam using his "sword" to protect Frodo when he's not using it to cut firewood or coneys for the pot. Shaila uses a swastika as part of his marks. For those who don't know swastikas have been used the world over for centuries before the nasties turned them into the most hated symbol in the world.

15.5 inch 13 ounce Tamang Knife by Vim Kami. Satisal wood handle. All fittings are white metal. Take this beauty home today for $138. *SOLD*

The Tamang is unusual for an HI product; the spine is roughly 3/16" thick with the balance point approximately 1.25" in front of the cho. Compared to the Amar Singh Thapa the Tamang feels like it will float away on a drafty day. A fairly typical satisal handle would be a great choice for those with small to average hands. Seems like more of a machete than a zombie slayer.

15 inch 26 ounce villager fit and finish chiruwa Ang Khola by Dil Kami. Dhar wood handle. All fittings are white metal. Field sharp rig at $135. *SOLD*

This "villager" has a beautifully fullered blade. I probably would have categorized it as a Dui Chirra instead of a CAK. It has approximately a 3/8" spine and balances about 5'8" in front of the cho. The dhar handle has a nice color to it and is a good size for my average hand. It appears to be a good all rounder from chopping to battling orcs.

Oldschool45 asked me about the edge bevel on the CAK. It doesn't appear to be quite 1/3 the width of the belly; maybe 2/7.

I didn't even notice in the original post the scabbards for the Tamang and Bahadur are blue not black.

the color of the neem handle on the astk juts looks avesome:)

The collection is getting impressive! Very nice.
I am a bit surprised at the spine dimension of the tamang. I thought most came at around 5/16 inch.

Thanks. I absolutely agree about the handle. I've only got one other neem handle and while it is a perfectly fine handle it doesn't have the character this one does. I think it would be a good candidate for etching the blade although I think it looks great already.

I was a bit surprised as well; but not disappointed. 3/16" is fine for most tasks. I just checked with a tape measure but my eyes aren't good enough any more to tell you more accurately than 3/16".

Just remember, in any other forum, a 3/16" thick knife would be called a boat anchor.

Only here is that considered light, and unusually thin.

Some nice stuff you sharked up that day, really nice stuff...

If you ever decide you want to do some work on those handles and take them to the next level. email me.

I have done a lot of Neem and have a few ideas on how that ASTK could be made fantastic looking. The satisal needs a good washing to see what the wood looks like under all that rouge, I have done a lot of this now and have take ddean's method and make it a but easier and more effective (I have a pix filled How To to post on this yet) and the piece of Dhar on your AK looks like it could be made into an absolutely stunning piece. Again, I think I have some ideas beyond the typical ones for you, just email me. :)

I want one of those bigger Tamangs eventually...

Nice collection and pix, thank you for sharing

Seriously. One of the old timers used to say that the 12 inchers weren't real khuks but toys. My "toy" siru is still 5/16" thick and 13oz. It makes my Camillus MkII look downright flimsy. Some toy.
