Well I got my para a couple days ago and I thought id share my first impressions and some pics.

First off I must say it is one heck of a knife and my favorite spyder so far. It feels great in the hand, looks great and the blade shape is perfect. Lockup is tight and the blade is perfectly centered (two gripes I have with knives=P).

For 100 dollars, I feel this knife is a steal. I mainly carry a lg seb as an edc but this guy will definatly have to get some pocket time.

The only negatives is that I find the knife rides a little high in the pocket and I wish the pocket clip was silver (bead blasted preferably). Ill probably strip it in a couple weeks but ill damage it up a bit first heh. I almost find it hard to use this piece of art but it isnt fair to have a spyder that never gets to bite anything :o

Enjoy the pics, Ill post a better review in a couple weeks when she sees some use.

Yes!! Another great review of the Para D2!! So far, I'm really enjoying mine too! Does any one have anything really negative to say about the Para D2? I mean seriously, for a hundred bucks it's one of the highest quality production knives on the market.

Great pics, and first impression review:thumbup:
I love mine as well, and also plan to strip the clip...or order a satin clip.
Or send it to STR for tip up low rider...having trouble deciding, which is nothing new, lol.

BTW- Maybe this thread will help in getting Rolf to realize he needs such a fine knife:D

Does Spyderco make a satin clip for the para? Where do you order from?

There is one(or some) on the bay that states they are SS spyderco Military clip's, and they do have the bug on the clip. They look legit???
They have them on the Orange Millie, so I bet they are legit.
I'm going to call and try to order one from Spyderco... if they have them in stock that is.

btw- just in case you weren't sure the PARA and full sized Millie use the same clip.

yeah....I'm having the same issue.

Using the heck out of my new Tenacious as I just dont want to mess up the Para. I will get over that soon though.:D

Hey BTW, what or who is STR...???

Am interested in a clip placement change on the Para.

I have the same EDC (large Reg Seb OR small micarta classic) and sold amost all my other folders...EXCEPT my Spyderco Para.

Yes, it rides a little high but the positive side to this is it's easy to grab from the pocket even with gloves...So for me, a "negative" in a city environment is a "positive" in the wilderness.

Congrats on one of the finest folder among ALL folders

Do the Military and Para use the same clip? Thinking silver clip on the Orange may be available from Spyderco for a small fee ;)

I ended up ordering the STR low rider bead blasted titanium clip for my D2 para. I can't wait! I'll post pics once I get it in.:D

Mine just arrived. Impressive fit/finish, even for spyderco. I can't find a single flaw. I am also impressed by how smoothly it opens. Its got a great mini-tank, solid feel to it. It's going to get a lot of pocket time.
