Got some excellent,( my son would use epic) mail today. A black g10, satin finish Para 2. $107.98 shipped. The clip was loose, but it snugged up just fine. I start with the middle screw, go to one side then the other. Then repeat till all 3 are tight.
I never used g10 before but it feels great in-hand. The only way I can come up with to describe it is the g10 feels more like a cloth material, compared to the plasticy feel of my frn Enduras.
The knife feels like an extension of the hand. No matter how you grip, it is comfortable. The balance feels very natural.
It came very sharp. It slices and push-cuts paper easily. The edge is a little toothy, so I will probably put a good polish on it after I use it some. I stropped it with bl. emery followed with al. oxide powder,( Wood Is Good), mixed with mineral oil, both on balsa. This helped some, but I will take it to the 2000 grit stone on the Lansky.
I love the compression lock. I dont really feel the need to flick it open. The Spydey-hole works naturally, smoothly, and quickly. It flicks closed easily.
If you grab the blade very hard, and wiggle side to side very, very hard, there is about .0001" of play. I find it perfectly acceptable. I imagine if the pivot screw was tightened 1/10 of a turn it would be all gone, but for now I am not going to mess with it.
I will leave it tip down for now. I carried it around town for about 3 hours and hardly new it was there. With it on the right side of my front pocket I had plenty of room to get my keys in and out.
To sum it up: perfect size/shape perfect edc epic product
I am tipping my hat to Mr. Glesser
