I just received a new RC-4 with a plain, black blade and linen micarta scales, and thought I would make a few observations from handling, but not using the knife.

The knife is well made, seems smaller than I expected, but definitely on the chubby side, which I expected. Glad I didn't order the RC-3, which would have been too small to suit me.

The knife and the sheath easily drop into the front or back pocket on my jeans, which is handy.

The standard Kydex sheath is well made and functional. It's definitely a keeper.

I had difficulty determining the color of the scales from the photos that I saw on various websites. After handling the knife, I would call the color medium to dark gray, which looks good.

The knife doesn't feel secure in my hand. IMO, the circumference of the handle is a bit too small for a person with large hands to grip well. The handle length is adequate.

I would prefer a more rust resistant steel and an uncoated blade, but the quality of the sheath and other features of the knife persuaded me to give it a try.

I have the same trouble. I like the tan coating and have difficulty determining exactly what color the handles are. They are usually listed as green, but I don't see green I see tan. The RC-4 will be the next RAT I purchase so I guess I'll know when I receive it what color the handles really are. lol
