Not an awful lot to say except to thanks to Skunk at the BCS
I've been chasing a warden for a good while after first spotting them on the BCS some time ago. I guess I missed the original warden run and it was total luck I came upon them when trying to track down an Active Duty, just as the tiger wardens had sold out at the BCS (so not sure how much I missed the GW run by).
I spent a while trying to track down a green linen and satin (my fav colour-combo) GW inside my price range with little success.
Luckily I was able to snag a Lep which arrived in the UK this morning.
Whilst I do still relish the prospect of a Satin and Green linen GW I love this Lep!
This is not only my first busse but my first knife of this level of quality (my most expensive knives before have been a Spyderco Military and two HI Khukuris) and I am very impressed.
The first thing which strikes me is the rather unique feel of the Micarta; I'd admired the look of the material for some time, and held what I believe was paper micarta on a randal, but in honesty the micarta felt nothing like I expected. It seems both solid and weighty with very little give, with a rather unique texture.
The blade colour is something I notice a few people have questioned and I have to concur, a few of the pictures show the coating as much lighter green than it is. Mine are included in this. It's a really nice deep olive that seems quite hard to capture in the light of the flash.
All in all, I can truly see why people fall in love with Busse knives. Before this purchase my favourite knives have been my khukuris or knives I've resepected from a purely practical perspective (e.g. spydies for their lightweight functionality). What I seem to have found in Busse knives is a combination of beauty and sheer performance!
Anyway, I'm preaching to the choir here so I'll be quiet
Here's a pic of the knife. Thanks again to Skunk for hooking me up and to Jerry for such an awesome product.
