Well, here is my first feeble attempt at an integral. If I try another, it will have a shorter bolster and a tapered tang. Oh well, live and learn.

Forged from a length of .600 thick coil spring
Ironwood Handle Material
OAL - 10"
Blade tip to bolster - 5 1/4"

Thanks for looking........ Robert

Looks pretty slick Robert. Great job, you gotta show me how to do that!

That's a beautiful knife! The scales couldn't have been easy to fit but you did a great job.:cool:

That's a right pretty version of feeble, Robert! Nicely done.

As if this wasn't enough of a challenge, you want to do the next one with a tapered tang too! Well, it looks like you could pull it off. You made coil spring look awfully good! Thanks for sharing, Phil

Thanks guys. I was concentrating on staying off of that round bolster with the hammer so much that I sort of let the proportions of the overall knife go to pot.

Now that I realize that I can do an integral, I will be "flailing-the-hell" out of the next one and concentrating on the overall proportions of the knife.

I think the next one will be made from O-1 or perhaps W-1. I only used the coil spring because I had it handy and forged on it between waiting for another blade to get back up to heat.

Thanks again............. Robert

I wish my knives could have that feeble fit and finish. That is really nice.
