I recieved my first ESEE knife about a week ago, courtesy of Patriot Knives (from whom I recieved fantastic service, BTW ). I've eyed the Izula for a while, but passed it over for various reasons. Well, I decided to give it a try, and am I ever happy I did! It's such a great design...compact, efficient, tough, and sharp! I bought the Izula to replace my Clinch Pick...I was looking for something a bit more utilitarian, that would still be able to perform well defensively in a pinch, and the Izula fits the bill!

The skeletonized handle felt pretty good, but I tried giving it a cord wrap, which was alright, but still kind of lacking...so Robert at Patriot Knives hooked me up with some scales! I can't believe the difference they make! The knife feels so much better in hand. Much, much more robust.

The Izula seems to me to be the J-frame of the knife world. Compact, powerful, easily attainable, and reliable!

I have two custom kydex sheaths on the way, I'm excited to get them.

Here's a few of the obligatory beauty shots, as well as some shots of it in hand. There's also a shot of it concealed...

Congrats. I have a very special (and really rare) Izula that I almost never carry. I'm thinking that I need to get a second one for EDC. I love the size and comfort of this knife.

Aaand here's the rest. This is how I carry and draw it. It conceals pretty well (as evidenced by the first pic), but it will be even better once I get the kydex sheaths, as the size package is much smaller. The small tek-lock doesn't work with the stock sheath, so I removed the screws and zip tied it together. This position is very comfortable, and is easily accessible with either hand. The Izula, with scales and custom kydex, is damn near the perfect EDC fixed blade.

Good pictures - thanks for posting.

I carry in the same position using paracord and a tensioner to strap the stock sheath to my 511 belt. It has a little play, but stays put on the draw.

I've only had mine a few weeks and have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of this little knife. Enjoy yours!

Is that a wilderness tactical belt?

Congrats. I carry same position opposite side. Dont even know its there, until I need it.

They are great belts. I have a 5 stitch ring belt. Congrats on the Izula also. I will probably get one for my next ESEE.

my normal belt is their Frequent Flyer. good stuff. i just need to get something similar now. Izula, scales, kydex and TekLoc or G Clip.
