I was asked by Bigjonhoss to build a kerambit. All he specified was his trigger finger diameter (1.125"), his palm width, and handle material. Everything else was free license. I'd never built one before so here goes nothing. Needless to say I prayed before I did anything! Steel is .140" Carbon V.

First time using a hole cutter.

He has big mitts.

Ready for HT.

Drilling the micarta.

He wanted it marked this way.

Ground... partial double edge.

This is what I have done today:

Taped knife and edges of scales.

Trying to keep my mind occupied for the next 12 hours :(

(Yes, that is a spoon from a MRE)

Lookin' big and bad, CM.

I use a carbide tipped hole cutter.

After ferric chloride etch.

Hamon action...

It will have a leather storage scabbard with a snap strap that goes through the ring. The owner says it's home will be between the mattress and box spring.

Correction: couldn't get the leather idea to work... went kydex instead.
