Would you have paid $13 out the door for this? I'm not sure how well the cell phone pix will show the scuffed up scales, but the knife isn't in perfect condition, but for $13, I couldn't pass up a US made Ken Onion design. Is this a Leek?

Opinions and comments welcome!

Looks like a leek to me and the blade looks in good condition as well, nice find for a nine year old knife!

IT has a nick in the spine of the blade (is that the correct term?). I'm wondering if replacement scales are available, and if they are, are they worth it? This will probably replace my CRKT Point Guard as my EDC now, so if it is scuffed up already, I'll be less worried about damaging it.

"Spine" refers to only the blade, I believe. From what I can tell about this model, it's discontinued and even then, I'm not sure what KAI's policy on scale replacement is (I know they've got a blade replacement program for a small cost). If you needed small parts, like screws or pocket clips and the like, or even if the Speedsafe opening was broken, they'd take care of that for free.

In my opinion, it's fine as it is. Put it to use and put some marks of your own on it! You got a great deal. Really nice colors, even with the ding!

Yeah i would keep it as is, those scales are pretty cool, never seen any but solid colors and rainbow before

Those smoked scales aren't as common as some of the other ones. Nice find....nice find indeed.

Would not have been able to get the money out fast enough. Great find!

It was marked at $20 which I thought was a good price. I said something about the scales being jacked p and she said she would take $15. I get to the counter and pull out my debit card and the guy asked if I had any cash. I told him that I only had $13. He said close enough!

Carried a lot, used a little...

...For about 25% of original retail...

...and a knife you definitely won't be scared to use?

Heck yeah!

Great score on a modern classic. Congrats.
