My Bilton doubles as an occasional kitchen knife. It is fun to use as it is not something most people in this part of the world use in their kitchens and it catches a lot of eyes. There are somethings it does well, but with others, the blade thickness can be a drawback. Our old laminated maple chopping board (rest it's soul) (I'm laughing while I type) didn't last too long in front of the Momma-In-Law. Please excuse me, but I was having trouble spelling w-i-t-c-h so opted for something easier to spell.....anyways, Little Bilty was whacking away, making wonderful "thunk" sounds, and reducing chicken to chicken nuggets when some of the laminations from the board decided to separate and go their own way. Now, I'm not saying that I was creating wood chips on purpose or that the abuse of the cutting board was planned, or anything like that, but dearest Momma-In-Law does think that somehow there's a facial resemblance between Jack Nicholson and I when I have a khuk in my hand. I wonder when she'll return for another finely wrought meal here at Toad Hall.........
