First Khukuri ...I'm hooked.

I got that "box" in the mail today, you know that ONE. Oh my. I took advantage of the sale from this past weekend. I ordered a 18in AK. Let me tell you I am blown away by this Khukuri. The sheath perfect. Tight fit. Great stiching. Then I pull the blade out. Incredible. Simply wonderful. See where I am going with this. A couple of small marks on the brass but nothing that I would start to complain about. I must admit that I read the H.I. forum for a while and was somewhat skeptical about how nice everyone said these Khukuris where. I expected a tank of a blade, to be sure, but the fit and finish was much better then I thought that it would or could be. The blade is marked with a R.R.
I looked on the Himalayan Import site but did not see anything about this Kami. I would like to shake his hand. Well this leaves me only one thing to do. Order the next one. Thanks to Uncle Bill. Now I have to go find something to cut. :)
 
My box arrived today as well and I have to say it was a pleasant surprise. I got an 18" AK and a BAS both are more that expected. Now I need to find somthing to hack up. :D :D :D

I got my second khukuri, a BAS, a couple of days ago and I'm still thinking WOW:eek:

Feth, my First khukuri is also by Raju Rasaili whose mark is a swastika. You can see this info on the Welcome to the world of the Nepalese Kami Page of the HI site, however I just gave you all the info that's up and I have no idea why he's called Amtrak. He makes great khukuris though.
 
Oh, I know that I am doomed. Cut a little bit with it. Oh my. I have a couple "big choppers" and they are not even in the same sport as the 18" AK. That being said I want something...shall I say bigger (yeah I know that may seem crazy). I also want to jump in on the next order of 12" Ak. I never, should have gotten this first one...meaning just one with my first order of course ;).

Raju Rasaili = RR = RailRoad = Amtrak.

You know I had that same thought the 18" AK is nice but bigger is better. I fear I've caught HIKV. :eek: :eek:
 
I mean...you know something like a 25" AK. Oh sure, it would only be about 73lbs but man o'man would it ever cut. I know that there are some that are bigger so I should not whine about it until I have at least one of them...or two.:)
 
Go do a search for monster khuks and find the thread with those with pics. Then you can compare some really nice stuff. Should be the second one down.

Oh, RR= Amtrak. I can tie those together now. I can follow the track of the joke but it leaves me steamed. Id better not tell another pun or you;ll ride me out on a rail.
