i bought my first today, an Ontario TAK-1, and can't wait to for it to get here!!! i've actually been prowling the threads for reviews on the knives i wanted for the past 2 days, so a thanks goes out to everyone here who've been contributing great content.

i didnt see a "first post welcome thread" so i decided i'd throw my "HI EVERYONE ITS ME" post in here :D
a review on the TAK will prolly come up from me soon (yeh i know there's already a milllion out there but hey another 2cents won't hurt)

Welcome to the forums, I hail from NEPA, or NorthEasternPA, been collectin'/accumulatin' nearly 30+ years, I like mostly older knives(slipjoints from the 20's through the 50's), but I have a little bit of everything else, BMs, Spydies, SOG's, SAKs, Customs.

I like it here cause for the most part the people are real, hell even custom makers and manufacturers hang hear, Sal Glesser from Spyderco, Carson, Darryl Ralph to name a few, great place great people.

How about you, where ya from, (in general), howd ya get into knives, ya know a little bit about yourself.

i've only started collecting knives recently, my trip this summer to brazil actually sparked my interst. trimontina(sp?) blades really impressed me and they have lots of other knives (of cheap steal i suspect) for good price. the Tak is my first "designer" knife even if it is a factory production..hehehe

i grew up in south america mostly and i always carried a 3 in v'nox around for saftey as well as utility. but since moving to canada i haven't really felt the need to carry any steel. it feels so safe here.

generally i tend to buy kitchen knives (i'm a cook by hobby.. :D ) the purchase of the TAK and mebe a few more tactical survival knives are for camping trips i hope to do in the canadian "wilderness"..up here in the north u never know wut u mite stumble upon :eek:
