First knife from an old ferrier rasp

Made my first knife using a large rasp. Really enjoyed it & plan on doing more. I knew the rasp would be hard so before grinding away I heated it with wood & let cool after the fire died down. However I did not have the means to quench it but it seems to be holding an edge well enough. Please advise on what I did & what I should do with the next one. The finished knife looks pretty good & is really sharp. all my buddies were impressed but I know I can do better with a little help from the experts.
