Hi. I'm not new to the forum, but this is my 1st post. I've been knife collecting so long, I think my first knife was made out of flint!

Added my 1st Fiddleback last week. A Bloodwood Bushboot. Yes.... It has that knife mojo. Aesthetics, shape balance, fit and finish. Utility seems excellent ( I've only whittled with it so far). But for me to be impressed by a knife it must have an intangible that is hard to but into words. The closest I can come to describe it is that the tool absorbs the spirit of the maker. I know that sounds like some Zen like metaphor. Not very empirical.

I enjoy just holding and looking at the knife. Not telling you guys or gals anything you don't already know. Andy does good handles!!!!

I'm going to try to attach photos to this post. Not sure how. If I'm not successful I will post pictures later.

Welcome to the Fiddleback Forum man. The Bushboot is a great little edc type knife. I had one right up to the point my wife snagged it when I switched over to carrying one of Andy's Recluses as an edc since I live out in rural farm country now. Apparently the Bushboot sat still too long. I've had two of them, the first was a 5/32 tapered tang with Bloodwood handle scales. I loved it, but a friend here bought a 1/8 tapered version and wanted more heft so I traded.

I agree 100%, I own several knives, several mass produced and a few hand made, and the hand made knives do pick up an energy the maker puts into them, concentrating on them during the process of making, an energy that is intangible, but doesn't exist in cnc knives. I see it as the hand made knives have a soul, where the other cookie cutter knives do not.

Andy's handles are phenomenal. I have had and used 12 of my own, and still have 6 of them, and have borrowed a couple of others so I have tried most models now and have loved the handles on all of them.

Bb6288, you are right on the money! I acquired my first Fiddleback from eBay, it was a bolstered Bushfinger. I opened the package, and.... everything was right with the knife. I googled "Fiddleback Forge" and saw more of Andy's knives... They are beautiful works of art, but they are more than that. They just work, all the parts work together and seem at true peace when in hand. I have never met Andy, but I do feel I know him from his work. Now, most of my other knives seek awkward and out of place, without personal connection. Fiddlebacks make me happy, as they must for many members of this forum. Thank you Andy Roy!

Thanks for the welcome mistwalker. Your posts, pictures (excellent photography) and reviews have been a major reason I decided to get a fiddleback. My collection jones thanks you. My bank book..... Not so much. My wife....why do you need another knife lady, not so much either.

Willic. One thing about collectors. We love to share with others of our ilk. The enthusiasm from you and others on this forum is infectious. Thank you all. Your phrase " parts work together and seem at true peace when in hand". Is so well spoken. Ok written.

I have only spoken with Andy on the phone. There was a little confusion on the shipping. Once we got a grasp on what the problem was, Andy handled the situation with class and professionalism. I know I will be adding more Fiddleback's to my collection.

Thank you for the compliments, lol, I'm used to "why do you need another knife lady" I'm married to one too. But now that she has her own Fiddleback Bushboot, and uses my Woodsman in the kitchen sometimes, I don't get that question anymore when I am talking about getting another Fiddleback. Which is a good thing, because I have a few more I want to get since he has come out with new models, new logo , and is doing more complex tang work. I want a Woodchuck and a tapered tang 5/32 Kephart and KE Bushie for certain, but I will likely pick up a Hiking Buddy for my daughter first. I let her borrow my HB yesterday, and I like the way it handled for her.

I don't own ANY Fiddleback knives (at the moment) but I've gotta say that that's a beautiful knife. Congratulations!

I always feel blessed when you guys are motovated to write about and take pics of your knives. I love hearing that folks are using and enjoying collecting them. Its nice to make something with my hands that speaks to folks at the other end.

Back on the phone with the PO now. Seems like this has been maybe the worst shipping month ever. BB I really appreciate your patience with the shipping!
