First knife/gun show coming up, what to expect?

This weekend is the Minnesota Weapon Collector Association gun and knife show. I haven't been to an event like this for many years and definitely not since I have been looking into high end knives. I am hoping that this will be a place for me to put my hands on some knives that I don't have the opportunity to normally (since there are no brick and mortar stores that carry many of the top brands other than benchmade in my immediate area.) Am I setting myself up for disappointment? I know that there will be one vendor there who happens to be a ZT authorized dealer (but doesn't have a brick and mortar store). What are the chances there will be more with some of the higher end knives from hinderer, CRK, etc? Can I expect a good selection of all of the major production brands (ZT, BM, Spyderco, etc)? I can't find any list of vendors anywhere. I just want to know that it will be worth my $5.00 to enter:)

Thanks,

Mike

Can't say about shows near you. Some states have shows that have a really good selection of knives. If, however, it's anything like the gun shows around here it's almost all bayonets and cheap chinese junk. Don't get your hopes up too high.

I highly agree with Shotgun. But who knows, you may get lucky and find a few good dealers here and there, in which case, I would advise to just make the rounds first and then see where you can get the best deals before just jumping on the first knife that catches your eye. After a couple of times of this happening to me, I learned my lesson, lol. I'm always like a kid at a candy store when it comes to those gun shows...:D

I recently went to my first Gun & Knife show and I was very disappointed in the knives there. Most of the stuff was cheap knockoffs and other trash. There were only two vendors who had anything worthwhile, the offerings were few, and there were no deals to be had. All in all I was disappointed in the knives themselves, but overall it was still a fun time and I would go again.

Thanks for the advise. It seems as if I should temper my enthusiasm a bit prior to the show. Otherwise I could go there with high expectations and suffer a let down. Well, I know at least one vendor there has some ZTs. That is a start I guess:)
