Aloha friends - reunited with my boyhood knife recently. Purchased in Helen, Georgia. Anyone else ever have one of these beauties?

Lol! You picked a winner! Kudos to you for keeping it in such good shape.

A friend had a knife similar to yours he liked to put hotdogs in the finger holes and close the blade.

The first knife I chose for myself and bought was a Camillus 72. I think I was 10. It was exactly like the one my Dad carried everyday. Here is what it looked like new. Not my picture or knife.

Right after I bought mine he lost his and replaced it with a Buck. I’ve been expecting that knife to turn up for 40 years but it must be really gone.

Looks like a knife a 10-year old would get. Don't ya love it! I chose and purchased my first knife in the second grade, so probably about age 7. That's when I started getting an allowance from my parents.

I have the same knuckle knife somewhere around here. I bought mine at the Swap Shop flea market when I was 15 or so. I never used it much. Besides it being ridiculous, the finger holes were on the small side.

All knives I bought in my childhood have broke.

First real knife I bought was bought was around 20yo and I still use it and it's still one of favourites. Recon Tanto in SK-5 steel :)

I even got one older pic at hand :D

Congrats on your find.

I had one exactly like that in the 80s but I don't recall "Fury" on the blade. I guess I had a knock off of a knock off?

I don't think my 2xl glove wearing hand and arthritic knuckles would fit in that knuckle guard anymore.

Just pair it with a 80s Rambo style bowie with a compass in the handle and you are ready to fight crime.

My first knife was a Gerber Ez Out Jr.
However, the first knife I chose out for myself, and subsequently bought for myself, was a PM2 in DLC S30V.

That very quickly propelled me into knife enthusiasm.

Young me really wanted a Rambo knife, but ended up with a small butterfly knife I found at a swap meet. Not sure what happened to it, I’m sure my little bro cockroached it as soon as I went off to college.

I'm sure it was for the better, I pilfered my big brother's butterfly knife as he graduated to a 007 and a Buck 110 on the hip. It was the early 80s and country was in full swing.

I cut the hell outta myself flipping that butterfly knife though, lol.

There was a little shop at North Pier in Chicago when I was 12 or 13 (91-92?) That sold stupid ninja type crap. I ended up with a set of two large throwing knives in a single sheath (still have one, in the sheath), a wrist sheath set of 3 mini throwing knives, a stupid little dagger, a dragon emblazoned balisong, a rubber throwing star, and foam nunchaku.

First knife I bought for myself? I was 17, a SOG pentagon Elite liner lock. 1996 or 97.

I had a giant oak tree in my backyard, needless to say there was this place called Treasure Island in Brooklyn, NY that sold all sorts of Ninja cutlery. We're talking 1980's so Sho Kosugi/American Ninja/White Ninja era so obviously I was in my mode. Needless to say their throwing knives which I had to have of course along with ninja claws just really sucked. I remember throwing one at the oak tree and it literally bounced back and I ending up stabbing myself in the chest. Lol.

sliceofaloha sliceofaloha that is awesome! We are about the same age and I bought so many knives in Helen and at the flea market there. Grew up camping at Unicoi Springs for at least a decade. I will have to dig out my Lion lock back . Many victorinox, Parker , and frost knives were purchased with lawn mowing money, still have them all!

I thought this one was extremely cool when I was a kid, I believe it came from the local flea market.

I still kind of like the finish on the frame, I think piranha or something makes some small automatics with a finish like this on the frames.

How could I forget this one, this knife was pretty much the most badass knife around and I had so many trade offers for it.

It's gone through some repairs over the years , I've pinned the scales back on, polished the spots where the chrome flaked off the pot metal handle, and my dog chewed up the faux leather sheath.
One thing I will say is that through all this it's still as sharp as it was the day I got it, not very . :D
I've never been able to get a good edge on it.
