I made a few when I was in school/college and I
had a few blades half finished for about 13 years or so and decided to get back to work on them. This is the first one I finished up, nesmuk inspired. A bit unrefined, but sharp as hell and good heat treat. I stopped grinding at the handle when it felt good in the hand, instead of chasing symmetrical lines and such, as I have made that mistake before. I used it to cut the leather for the sheath which was the first one I’ve ever made. I used rivers and glue because I really didn’t feel like stitching anything. Good old 1095, vinegar finish, and some walnut I found in my in-laws attic. The sheath still needs a trimming but it’s snowing out. Anyways, cheers!

I like the proportion and the flow on the blade design. I am in the middle of the workshop and apartment move and haven't done a blade on my own for almost year and a half and my hands are itchy...

The knife has nice lines, handle shape looks good too ;) Digging the finish.

What did you bash the face of the rivets with?

I used whatever little rivet punch and anvil came with a pack of rivers from Tandy and a mallet, probably hit them a few more times than needed… definitely need practice with that but I’m happy for my first sheath.
