This is my first knife. I've been training under a friend of mine's uncle while constructing a simple shop in my work room. ive got everything so far but a
propane forge and a few power sanders/grinders.

i hammered this knife outa 5160. forged in a propane forge. quenced in a mixture of oils including old harley davidson oil. and heat treated at 400 degree's three times for an hour with time inbetween to fully cool. this knife it just waiting its polish. This knife was also tested the other day by dropping from
about 4ft tip first on a concrete floor. The tip was fine but on impact it dug a
chunk of the floor out.

as my first knife ive only had the opinion of the person who trained me which i value like the words of my father, but as a artist i always wanna know what others think so i can adapt my style. so plz any comments id really enjoy to read.

Dude just keep banging away if it becomes a passion for you. well you will find out quickly that no one can teach you all you need to know just make lotts of dust and buy every tool you can afford :0

look like it will be a nice knife what kind handle material are you putting on it.

keep it up

sar

well sar untill you asked i didnt of handle material was gonna chord but now that i think of it im gonna try leather i think a real primitive wrap of leather maybe.
maybe using the knots as finger devides ill glue it down so it dont slip and slide off.

Heres a little one with a similar style blade that I did leather wrapping on. I dyed some leather cord and did it. I think it looks pretty slick....Keep on hammering! Turks head knots make for good finger dividers and look good to boot.

How bout this look. Your knife with stag horn, my favorite. Would look great at the next turkey or black powder shoot.
