Alright! I have been having some major camping/fishing withdrawals lately and that usually coincides with the next set of knife purchases. So, with my chronic OKD(obsessive knifenut disorder) flaring up, I've been looking to make a couple blade purchase.
That being said, I now have a BK14 on the way and have been scouring the interwebs for all things relating to beast knives... or sharpened pry bars, if you will.
I have an RC-3 already and a BK9, so I was looking for something in between that would fill any gaps between the two. I had narrowed it down to two contenders, the BK2 or the ESEE 5.
The only gripe I have ever had with the BK9 is the grip. With it being so smooth, it would easily become too slippery if my hands became sweaty. Well, I've found a solution to the issue... or rather I took a cue from a couple members here who did the same thing. Let me tell you, the results are great!
I took the medium tip on a wood burning tool to create the effect and it increases the traction on the grivory scales immensely.
So now that I've solved my problem with the grips, it looks looks like I'll be picking up the BK2 (cant beat $35 after a $25 gift certificate)
