First knife on my new 2x72 grinder, not quite finished yet. I think it is a huge improvement over using my 1x30 Harbor Freight, not that the couple I've done on it were bad.

Nice work, you'll have to show the rest when it's done! Photo makes it look hollow ground...is that the case?

Actually it's not, it did start out as a hollow grind but I had an issue which caused a bite at the plunge (was short and I was trying to do a sweeping plunge on the hollow, it went horribly wrong, mistakes were made). The bite was low enough that I knew I could do a flat grind to above the problem and fix it. Yes, this is the fix to a horrible mistake lol. I do have to say I it only looks as good as it does because of the generosity of those on this forum, I've learned a tremendous amount.

Most great things are the result of terrible mistakes I think. And I agree, I can't believe how much this forum has helped me to cut the learning curve down....it's incredible how generous people are with their time and knowledge.

Your story is eerily similar to mine.
Recently started this great hobby using the tools that I had (1x42 and 6x48 grinders). OK but made many mistakes. Further, good belts are hard to find.

Presently looking to purchase a 2x72 grinder. Have 2 models in mind. Supplier has several quality belt choices for this.

Can't wait to get it and play with it!

Further, I have also gained lots of excellent information/tips from people here since I joined. Thank You!

I'm inserting your pics in the thread for visibility. Nice looking grinds. A 2x72 is a game changer for sure.

Thanks Drew, photos are always better inserted to the thread. AND please find a better photo hosting site than Photobucket! imgbb.com is the one I prefer, but there are others. Imgure.com is another many folks use.

I tried over and over to insert my photo's but I couldn't see them. I also can't see the ones inserted above, on several different computers, all using the latest Firefox. I also tried several different photo hosting sites, I really dislike photobucket but it is the only one I could get to work halfway correctly. Tried imgbb.com first...

Shouldn't be this hard, I work in IT as a UNIX SA...
