Hi Guys,

Just finished my first knife and would like to share it with you. It is a drop point hunter. Blade is 3 3/4 inches long and the o.a.l. is 8 1/4 inches. The blade is L-6 bar stock and hollow ground. Big leaf maple burl scales with red fiber liners. Man this is fun :D .

Shawn, That is a great looking hunter! Nice even grind lines, pretty finish on steel and handle. I cant see the red liners but I bet they complement the burl maple. I especially like the contoured grip, a bold operation for a first knife. Nice drop point.

That's your first?!?!

Very nice work! I agree with everything my friend Bruce said here...

You definitely don't get to sheepishly post this on Dr. Lathe's thread in the Custom Knife forum on our poor looking first efforts...

Great job, let's see some more! :)

WOW !, if thats your first then imagine the next one or how great they'l be in a few months or a year. Looks like a great knife. Grind lines look perfect the handle looks perfect the pins look perfect no burn marks (like mine) and what appears to be a palm swell too. Sweet ! Way to go !.....RDT

Thanks for all the very nice compliments. You can't see, but I'm blushing now as I type this :o . I really enjoy this forum and have learned alot from all of you. Special thanks to Jonesy for helping me get off on the right foot. :)

Thanks again,

Shawn

I'll have to say that's a nice knife! And one of my favorite blade steels too. What was the source of the L6?
