Hello Folks, I already posted this pic in a previous tread, to test. It seems to work.
Please evaluate the knife.
Blade: D-2 , 4 mm thick, differential tempered (sort of) and full cryo-treath.
Handle: Micarta. The screws to fasten the micarta are my idea, as one scale has a flaw, and I plan to redo them, and the rivet them on with good epoxy.
Sheath: 2.5 mm leather, handwork, looks real nice, doesn't it. It is also my first. I did let a friend of mine help me with it and paint it brown.

Thanks in advance.

Bart,
nice knife! I like the lines, and it looks like it would be very comfortable in the hand. Wish I could see the real thing!

Look's better than my first one ,Tank

Nice work Bart! Is this one going in a collector's case with a brass plaque that says "My First" or is it going on your belt? One way or the other, it would be a shame not to show it off. I presume #2 is already under way?

Hello folks,

That knife is going to be on my belt, as I use it frequently, at home, at my place, at the university. I study psychology too.
If you could hold the real thing, you would find it pushing itself in two different grips. One is with your tumb up the little ridges I made on the back, in something like a skinner-grip. The other is like a chopping grip, With your hand a little back. It is not suited as a fighter, because the simple, straight grip on it does not feel good. But I made it for hunting, and damn, it does a lot better than any other knife I had so far.
Feel free to use the design, It was mine, but I am sure I can recognize several influences.
Did you people know you got me strated from collecting to making knives?
A question: To what grit size sharpen it best? I is mainly going to be used on wood, plastic and meat. For the skinning, I like rougher edges, but just how rough?

40 micron and a light strop on leather for an agressive edge roughly around 360 grit

nice knife! i like it. to sharpen my blades i start off with a course diamond stone, then progress to a fine diamond. next go to 800grt. japanese wet stone, then onto 1000grt. finish with 6000grt, but it takes alot of practice to be able to put a good edge on it.
(remember to read instructions on how to use the diamond and water stones, you may even want to buy a book on how to properly sharpen.)
