Hello everyone, first let me say thank you to everyone who post on here and makes this place such a wealth of knowledge to makers of all levels! I've mostly been a lurker so far trying to absorb as much as I can from everybody but I finally ponied up for a knifemakers membership so I can try and sell a couple to cover my cost. Ok, so about my knife:

The blade is 1080/15n20 random pattern damascus forged by me. The handle is stabilized oak burl with a stainless steel guard and pin. Also the sheath is 9oz leather that was made by me. Any and all feed back is appreciated. Thanks!

A very warm looking handle. it sets off the blade well. Welcome, and keep making beautiful knives!

beautiful piece, very simplistic. "sharp and to the point" , no pun intended

Wow! Love the handle shape, and the material! Clean, classic lines.

Nice knife. The intricacy of the damascus is contrasted well by the simple burl of the dark handle and single pin. The curve of the handle is nice, too.

Most excellent Rob!

I love the simplicity (but not so simple, eh?). Can you explain the handle a little? There looks to be a shadow underneath from which I infer scales?, but there's only the forward pin, so I'm not sure what kind of tang you did. Also, is there a spacer of some sort just behind the guard?

Your pattern weld and oak are a GREAT combo.

Thanks for sharing, Phil

Thanks everyone for the comments. Phil, the knife has a hidden tang and the piece of oak is one solid piece. I drilled and filed a hole in it big enough for the tang to slide into then epoxied it into place and installed the pin. There is a spacer between the guard and the handle material.

Hey Rob,

Thanks for the explanation. I really enjoy the trim of your overall design. The dark oak and blade and sheath almost have me smelling the autumn hunt and gun oil and frost on the pumpkin. Somehow the lines, fit and materials seems so classic for this old New England hunting lad of many years ago.

All the best, Phil

do you sleep ? A full time student with studies and the time and ability to make such beautiful knives . Keep up the good work , the whole piece is beautiful
