Hello everyone,

I am in the market for an all-around good knife that will serve me for a long time. I am thinking about the BM940 or spyderco delica4 w/g10 amongst others. Is the BM a bit expensive for what it is ($120)? Or what are some of your suggestions for an edc/small tactical blade. P.S. I like vg-10 & s30v steels.

Thanks in advance.

The 940 is an excellent choice, it's probably going to be the next knife that I buy.

If you want to spend less, I strongly recommend that you check out Kershaw. Many EXCELLENT knives in more of a $50-80 range.

I wouldn't suggest either but neither are really expensive (compared to customs) and both will last a long time unless you abuse them. What ever you like better I suggest you get that!

Have you thought about the spyderco paramilitary, in S30V you can get it with black G10 or digital camo G10. Also for blade choices there is satin and black, plain edge or serrated edge. Also you can find them for around $120.

Good luck im sure you will enjoy what ever you get

I would give a looksee to some of SOG's arc-lock knives, which presently all come in VG-10 and are quite sturdy. A few of them are on the thick side, but are no thicker than the 940.
Given just your listed options, I'd go for the Endura simply because it's the thinner of the two. I can't vouch for tip strength on the 940, but I know the Endura can open cans and not recieve more than a couple of scratches.

940 is not a bad option, but for a first purchase, the endura would be the way to go for me. That is what I am currently carrying. I see that you were looking at the delica 4 as well. Both good designs, it just depends on what kind of bulk you can stand in your pockets.

I would check out some of Kershaw's offerings, they are extremely well-built and offer fantastic value. most kershaws not sold in a wal-mart are also USA built, if that's important to you.

check out the:

Leek
Shallot
RAM
Mini Cyclone
Skyline (like $30 and it's my favorite EDC! Fantastic knife!)
Lahar (VG-10!)
Zing (new!)
Groove (awwwwesome knife)

etc.
